Inspired by noughts and crosses that’s played by the locals outdoors in Kashmir sometimes even on gravestones, using coloured pieces of brick. The flowers from the graves Iris and Ashk-e-Maryam are the motifs in the squares on the game. Each set is hand painted by a master craftsperson or naqash.
